Glan Heights Bed & Breakfast is located between Clonakilty and Dunmanway in the heartland of West Cork. We are situated on an elevated site, overlooking the historic Castle & Lake of Ballinacarriga, in a peaceful countryside setting.
It has fantastic panoramic views and on a clear day, one can see the Kerry Mountains. Clonakilty only a 15 minute drive and 30 minutes to Bantry, 25 to Skibbereen. Close to all local places of interest, including the renowned Wild Atlantic Way. Our local town of Dunmanway, which is so famous for Sam Maguire and the Football Cup, which is the coveted treasure in G.A.A annals.
The area has some wonderful walkways, pitch & putt, and horse riding along with Funmanway the nearby famous activity centre. Fishing practically on our door step is at Ballinacarriga Lake and boating locally. Also the famous Randal Og Castle, is situated adjacent to the Lake. Added to all of that, there are the very famous Bells in St. Marys Church in Dunmanway, which can be visited and rung, with great history attached to them.
Close by is the fishing village of Rosscarbery with its wonderful Lagoon, popular for of all its Watersport activities. Just a short distance away also, is the very prominent town of Clonakilty noted for it’s Black Pudding. There you have many attractions namely the Model Railway Village, Michael Collins Centre, Golf Courses, the beautiful Inchydoney Beach, Galley Head Lighthouse, not to mention the numerous pubs and restaurants noted for their very good food.
Travelling on further you have the quaint but peaceful villages of Glandore & Union Hall.
We are just off the Wild Atlantic Way, where you will experience some of Ireland’s wonderful coastlines and points of interest. When people stay at Glan Heights they can base themselves for a long period of time to further explore the Beara Peninsula, Glengarriff, Garnish Island and further West Cork Islands including Whiddy, Sherkin, Bere, Cape Clear and The Mizen Head Peninsula.

Dunmanway is located in the beautiful area of West Cork, close for exploring the neighbouring towns and villages of Clonakilty, Inchydoney Beach, Bandon, Bantry, Glandore, Schull and many more. Dunmanway the home town to the famous Sam Maguire, GAA champion, there is a local swimming pool for all the family and stunning views of the town to be seen from nearby Nowen Hill.
A lively town bursting with colour in the Summer, Clonakilty is a 50 minute drive from Cork Airport. Lots of shops and restaurants to keep all the family busy. Interestingly it has lots of history to delve into with the Michael Collins Centre and House located there. Nearby the stunning beach area of Inchydoney Beach and Clonakiltys Model Village and Tourist Train is for all to enjoy.
West Cork is the place to be and Glandore offers it all for the boating and outdoor enthuasists. Beautiful views waterside in Glandore and only a 20 minute drive from Clonakilty. A place to take time out and just relax. Be sure to take in the wonderful beaches en-route such as Red Strand Beach, Owenahincha and Long Strand, and the historic Drombeg Stone Circle. Explore the surrounding areas of Unionhall, Leap and Rosscarbery.
